Opportunity for year 12/13 Psychology Students

The Psychology department will be taking 30 students to a conference in London to hear Dr Phillip Zimbardo speak on Wednesday 28th March 2012. This conference links well with the social influence topic for year 12 and aggression for year 13.

This is an exciting opportunity for those of you who would like to continue to study Psychology to A2 level or at University.

If you are interested in attending this conference, please speak to Miss Morgan or Miss Glenn.

Students will be selected for the conference based on their attendance, motivation and effort during class and completion of homework.

For further information have a look at the attached leaflet. Zimbardo-conference-flyer-20126[2] The cost of the trip will be around £40 including ticket for conference and travel.

Tuesday 15th Nov lesson work for 12Y2 – KVL periods 1+2 Research Methods

1) make sure you have completed your homework – making notes into your booklet on how to design interviews and questionnaires – from the textbook

2) Find a real questionnaire – e.g. in a magazine, on a website.  Bring it to the next lesson, ready to identify one aspect of the questionnaire that shows good design decisions, and one aspect showing bad design decisions

3) Complete the bottom task on page 14 of your booklet – i.e. produce your own notes on case studies as a research method. ensuring you complete all the points (i.e. 1-4).  This can be in any format (e.g. written/typed, spider diagram, paragraphs, PowerPoint, table etc) as long as it is neat and detailed.
